We organise a ride calendar of day and weekend rides and some longer rides, with a strong preference for dirt roads. We ride medium to large capacity, single and multi cylinder bikes capable of handling rough terrain and long distances. Overnight, we stay in a pub or similar, or we camp. Our rides typically suit a group of, say, five to 15 people.
We welcome new riders and members, so come along on a ride and see what you think.
You do need to register before your first ride with us. It’s easy to do – just complete this online Rider Registration form.
You don’t need to be an “expert” – we have riders with all sorts of abilities – but at least some recent dirt experience and a suitable bike are important.
Suitable tyres and pressures are also important. We recommend 80/20 dirt/tar tyres, or at least 50/50 dirt/tar, and 25 psi as a general purpose dirt and tar pressure.
If you have any questions or concerns Lyndon Marshall, our New Riders & Members Manager, is good to talk to. You can contact him at 02 9637 5214 evenings. You can also use email@example.com but a phone call suits Lyndon better.
If you’ve already registered using our old paper forms you’re good – you don’t need to register again using the online method.
Want to update your details? Easy – just fill out a new Rider Registration.
PLEASE DON’T JUST TURN UP AT A RIDE WITHOUT HAVING REGISTERED.
YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO RIDE. NO REGISTRATION, NO RIDE, NO EXCEPTIONS.
We usually use a Cornerman System which all riders need to understand.
Before your first ride or any ride, please be sure to let the ride leader know you’re coming.
You should consider obtaining Ambulance Cover from a health insurer and motorcycle recovery cover that works outside urban areas, such as NRMA Premium Care (conditions apply).
You will automatically become a member of NAR after your first ride. Your mates will think you’re awesome.
